Multiple Drop-down list in Ms Excel means that if you create a drop-down list then the other drop-down list will be dependent on the first drop-down list. Let's understand with the help of an example, I have different brands of Mobiles and their different models. So if I select any mobile from my first drop-down list then in second drop-down list which is of different Model of all the brands of Mobiles, I can see only the models of that particular mobile. If I select SAMSUNG in first drop-down list then in second drop-down list i will see only the models of SAMSUNG Mobile. In first method, we will use three formulas i.e. Offset function, Match function, and Counta Function. While making drop-down lists, you can also learn how to use all these three formulas very easily. Offset function Reference-The starting point, from where you need to find cell reference or range. Rows- The number of rows to offset below the starting reference i.e. you want the answer from which row below your reference point. Column- The number of columns to offset to the right of the starting reference i.e. you want the answer from which column after the starting point. Height- [optional] The height of the rows. Width - [optional] The width in columns of the returned reference MATCH FUNCTION Lookup value - here, select that value or text which you need to find from a particular table. Lookup array- It means the array or the table from where you need to find your lookup value. COUNTA FUNCTION It calculates the cells which are not empty. It means that cell should not be blank. Cell can have anything like text, numbers etc. Now, in second method we will use INDIRECT FUNCTION. This function is used to create a reference that won't change even if you insert row or column in Excel sheet. That particular reference would be fixed.
